Howard Stern Just Left His House “For The First Time In Two Years.” Are The Pathologically Terrified Controlling Society?

Speaking of extremism… Howard Stern hasn’t left his house in 2 years. TWO YEARS. He finally went out to dinner with his wife and some friends, and later said,
“I really had an exhausting weekend, emotionally, physically. For the first time in two years I ventured out of the house.”
That is unhealthy. I get it, he’s almost 70 and is welcome to decide to stay home for the rest of his life. To me, the problem isn’t that he’s is suffering from germ-related psychosis. That’s on him. I don’t think it’s any way to live, but to each their own. The problem here is that people who are pathologically terrified of COVID are the ones who seem to dictate how the rest of us are expected to live.
Healthy, non-psychotic people are expected to compulsively test even if we have no symptoms. We’re expected to wear masks that we KNOW don’t work. We’re expected to get vaccines that we KNOW don’t prevent contraction or transmission. We’re expected to live by all manner of new germaphobic norms that make no logical or scientific sense. All because there are still a few who are pathologically terrified. News flash– life cannot be lived to a zero-risk standard, and there will never be zero COVID cases or deaths.
Stern has admitted that his behavior is unreasonable, explaining on his radio show,
“I said to my wife, ‘I don’t want to go, I’m in a panic, I don’t want to get COVID.’”
“I know our president has told us the pandemic is over and everyone is walking around without masks … I still just don’t want to get COVID.”
Apparently, it was Jimmy Kimmel who is credited with getting Stern out of his “bunker” when he told him,
“We’re worried that we’re going to lose you from society because the longer this goes on, the more comfortable you get in that little world. And then it’s harder and harder to get out of it … it’s unhealthy.”
Stern apparently acknowledge that it’s unhealthy, saying,
“F*** it, I’m being a p****, I know.”
All the way back in November of 2021, Stern acknowledged the seriousness of his psychosis and the damage he knew it was doing to him:
“For me, [COVID] is still going on and I haven’t left my house. I can’t figure out how to integrate myself. I’ve been locked up so long and I haven’t gotten COVID. I’m afraid I’ll be the one a**hole who gets COVID and I’ll die. Even though people don’t seem to be dying that much [anymore].”
He admits that his self-imposed years of quarantine have left him unable to “figure out how to integrate” back into society. And again, to each their own. If Howard Stern wants to become a social recluse who is incapable of integrating back into society, then that’s on him. But the bigger issue is that pathologically terrified people (like Howard Stern) are imposing the same socially incompetent and reclusive fate on OUR families and children. There are young people who now find themselves in the same situation as Stern, unable to integrate back into society after so long being socially isolated and estranged from normal interaction.
Our children are subjected to the forced policies dictated by the pathologically terrified. Unlike Howard Stern, who can choose for himself to become a social recluse incapable of integrating, our children are being FORCED into masks that prevent normal socialization, while many of their social programs have been closed down or changed, to the detriment of normal socialization. That’s not the choice of our kids. That’s imposed by the pathologically terrified.
The bottom line is that, while I think that Howard Stern is making stupid personal decisions dictated by pathological fear, I respect that it’s his decision to make. But his psychosis is indicative of a greater problem we face in this nation after more than 2.5 years of COVID. The terrified few are trying to dictate the lives of the rest of us, who never have been or no longer are afraid. And it absolutely is affecting the rising generation. I’m concerned we’ve created a generation of psychopaths who lack basic social skills to interact and empathize. And that does not bode well for our nation.

Well, it’s because Howard Stern is a leftest. And leftest are naturally born control freaks. They are incapable of being happy without controlling everybody else.
I used to really like Howard but at some point he got woke and says some pretty stupid things. However, I do feel bad for him and others in this predicament. It is a mental illness like OCD and it can be debilitating. I wish him well on recovery.
I think the problem is that this is no longer being considered a mental illness. It’s considered being “selfless” and “cautious” and whatnot. If Howard Stern went to an average therapist for his pathological fear of leaving his home because of COVID, his mental illness would probably be affirmed rather than treated and overcome. Because he’s seen as virtuous for doing this, rather than mentally ill. And therein lies the issue with the pathologically terrified influencing policy and social norms in this country. A mental illness is dictating how our children attend school, doctors appointments, play sports, etc. It’s damaging to our kids, ultimately.
