At Least Two Trans Contestants Will Be In Miss Universe Competition

I can’t deny that’s a pretty dude.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

The trans community should have their own league of literally everything.

  1. Sports
  2. Dating Apps
  3. Prom/Homecoming Queen/King
  4. Miss Universe Competitions
  5. Please still use the bathroom that aligns with your genitals, thank you.

The first transgender contestant to take home the title of Miss Portugal is a 28-year-old flight attendant, Marina Machete, where Machete took to Instagram to express excitement to compete for the Miss Universe Portugal title. Machete also included a snippet about how it’s an honor to finally compete after not being eligible for so many years.

Not eligible?

I am not super well-versed on the queer nuances of eligibility, but I feel like a drag show would have been sufficient.

The eligibility is SUPER eligible there, given the criteria. But, correct me if I’m wrong.

The other trans contestant is Rikkie Valerie Kolle, having claimed the Netherlands crown in July, also took to Instagram to announce victory in Portugal, expressing excitement for the upcoming Miss Universe competition in El Salvador.

If athletes are not allowed to use performance-enhancing drugs, what permits the trans beauty contestants to use gender-altering hormones? Are both not a form of deception and thus not predicated on their truest form and ability? I feel that’s very different than “beauty modifications,” no?

Fox News reported this quote from Kolle:

“They [critics] see us as monsters, and my daily DMs are full of people wishing me dead,” Kollé told Newsweek at the time, adding, “Wishing me dead and telling me to [commit] suicide, those things are terrible to write, but at the same it’s only lifting me up because I get a bigger platform than I could ever dream of.”

Kollé also said competing as a transgender contender offers a space to represent the LGBTQ+ community, adding, “Let’s make my Queer community proud by doing this.”

That glass ceiling sure is looking a lot like cement these days, eh?

As if beauty pageants didn’t already have the tendency to erode a woman’s self-esteem.

Losing to a dude will definitely push someone over the edge.

Eh, trans people don’t really need their own dating app. Just be 100% honest about who they are. For everything else on your list, all of the competition-based things, yeah they need their own organization. For sports, either compete in a trans-based league (which would accept both m2f and f2m) or compete under their biological sex. Women’s empowerment is being set back decades because of this.
