Twitter Demands, Then Declines, Answers

Today, while scrolling through the ol’ Twitter feed, I encountered a tweet that may seem, on its surface, rather loony.
But it happened to be about a random sociological phenomenon that I actually find kinda fascinating, so when I went into the replies and saw people asking for an explanation, I thought I’d lend my knowledge. You know, since I’m so magnanimous and giving. (And bored.)
Unfortunately, my contribution to the discourse was. . . not appreciated. Like, at all.
Now initially I thought, fair enough, it is not unlike me to overexplain. I start 90% of the questions I answer with a question of my own: “Do you want the long version or the short version?” But when I looked back at my tweets to think about how I could’ve edited them down for concision, I encountered a problem. It was called “context.”
See, if I strip back the argument to its bare bones, I end up with something kinda like. . . well, kinda like this:
white = rich = good
black = poor = bad
Yikes.
Not only is that racist af, it’s not the point at all. That’s why I went OUT OF MY WAY to emphasize that the argument relies on conflating race and economic status.
So I went back to my critics and asked them to please advise what contextualizing tidbits I might omit next time so as to meet their standards of brevity.
. . . Oh. I think I get it now– they didn’t want an answer at all. This person went out of their way to make the effort to communicate their disdain for an answer given to a question they didn’t ask and don’t care about finding the answer to, and that is the most bizarre way of spending one’s time I’ve ever heard.
But, then, it wouldn’t be Twitter if everyone behaved normally.

The trouble with your answer, Rachel, was that you used logic and intelligence, two things many people on the left (and sadly on the right as well) don’t understand at all.
Who and why people marry is between them and no one else.
This topic wouldn’t even be up for discussion if all civilizations would just go back to arranged marriages. Less than 7% divorce rate world-wide and you can be mostly (but not entirely) miserable for the rest of your pathetic existence. 😉
Considering so many people on the left seem to thrive on being miserable, you would think that solution would appeal to them. 🙂
So do most Left wing arguments. They regularly confuse correlation and causation but think the other side is stupid for not coming to the conclusion that they think is so obvious based on said confusion.
The way I heard it explained is this:
According to surveys and statistics, black women are the least likely to marry outside their race, and black men are the most likely to marry outside their race. This leaves a lot of black women unmarried. It seems to be a matter of personal preference.
But, overall, most people marry someone of their own race.
