Suspected Monkey-Napper Arrested

When you see a cute animal at the zoo, it’s pretty normal to think, “Oh, that’d be such a cool pet.” But for sane people, that’s usually as far as that idea goes.

BUT NOT FOR DAVION IRVIN!

Oh, no, no, no. This dude saw some cute emperor tamarin monkeys and thought, “let’s kidnap them.”

And he didn’t start slow to see how owning one monkey went. No, HE TOOK TWO.

I mean, I guess I applaud his confidence?

Typically monkeys freak me out, but these little bebes are actually adorable. If you’ve never seen an emperor tamarin monkey, click here. YOU’RE WELCOME.

Anyway, to give you some back story…

The monkeys, Bella and Finn, went missing on January 30 from the Dallas Zoo. On January 31, the Dallas police tweeted a photo of the suspect, Irvin.

Apparently along with monkeys, Irvin also likes Nacho Cheese Doritos. Can’t knock you there, Irv.

The photo did the trick, and the police quickly made an arrest.

“According to police, they received a tip shortly after posting the suspect’s photo on social media. That tip said that multiple people had seen the suspect at a vacant house in nearby Lancaster, where the monkeys were later found. That house had caught the attention of neighbors because it had been previously broken into and animals had been found inside …” The Daily Wire reported. “‘On Thursday night, Dallas police arrested Davion Irvin, 24, in connection with the emperor tamarin monkey case here at the Dallas Zoo,’ DPD spokeswoman Kristin Lowman said at the press conference. ‘Preliminary investigation and help from the public identified him as the man we were looking to speak to regarding this case.’”

How much do you wanna bet he left behind Nacho Cheese Dorito dust fingerprints and that’s how they caught him?

Luckily, it sounds like the monkeys are okay and Irvin is catching alllllll the charges for the theft.

He is also suspected of messing with other zoo exhibits.

Glad you liked it! There’s nothing like those golden oldies and their applications to modern times. There’s also “Mickey’s Monkey” by Smokey Robinson And The Miracles and “Monkey On Your Back” by Aldo Nova, an early 80’s rock tune.
