California Wants to Ration Their Citizen’s Water

Back in November of 2021 the Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the State Water Resources Control Board in California submitted a report to the Legislature recommending that that households be limited to 55 gallons of water per day by 2023, 47 gallons per day by 2025, and only 42 gallons per day by 2030.  This suggestion got turned into a bill that went before the Legislature. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, an average household in America uses more than 300 gallons of water per day.  Commifornia wants to limit their citizens to approximately 1 bathtub full of water per day.

According to State Representative Kevin Kiley, the bill was shot down by the Assembly this week.

People are angry with the ruling stating that due to the drought in California they need this water conservation.  However, instead of working on a system that would help the citizens of California in drought times, Gavin Newsome wants to decrease a family’s water usage by 80%.  Because rations are always the answer.  Also, let’s not forget the fact that Democrats have the majority here.  So it must have been a pretty lousy bill if they even got the Democrats to help kill it.

Meanwhile, Republicans, Like Congressman David Valadao, are working on an actual solution to help Californians.  Valadao, as well as others, are working to enlarge the Schafer Dam, which will increase water storage to help prepare for droughts.
