California’s “Reparations Report” Is Just What You’d Expect From, Well, California

In case you were wondering what’s been happening in California lately:

According to this, it’s everything you’d expect from Gavin and his gaggle of progressive wackjobs.

At 500 pages, the report, approved by Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, examines “the compounding harms that the United States and Californian governments have inflicted upon African Americans,” according to a press release. The word “equity,” which means equality of outcome and is frequently invoked by proponents of Critical Race Theory (CRT), appears 70 times.

“So thoroughly have the effects of slavery infected every aspect of American society over the last 400 years, that it is nearly impossible to identify every ‘badge and incident of slavery,’ to include every piece of evidence, or describe every harm done to African Americans,” the report states, further explaining that it analyzes “12 specific areas of systemic discrimination.”

Because of course it does that.  395 yeeears of systemic racism, it claims to try to unpack and untangle.  It’s the “practical application of Critical Race Theory to the history of California, inspired by our most prominent grievance impresarios, Nikole Hannah-Jones and Ibram Kendi.”  So that should give you an idea of where this is coming from.

But then you get to what’s IN it, and you can really see the crazy.  The Washington Free Beacon wrote an article on the eight most insane proposals in it, and wow.  Just wow.  It includes the following:

1. Child support forgiveness (THAT should really help with the personal-responsibility issue)
2. Establishing a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission, destroying all “anti-black memorials and monuments” (neat!)
3. Free college education (because why not?)
4. Trees in black neighborhoods for “shade equity” (yes, you read that correctly)
5. Less fast food and more “healthy food” in black neighborhoods (forcing private companies to do things always works out well)
6. Less police (we see how well this has worked so far, right? Please see L.A. as a case study)
7. Free health care (no doctors should ever get paid, then – am I right, docs?)
8. Cash reparations to “shrink the racial wealth gap” (amount not specified, of course)

Bonuses: Funding and technical assistance for affordable housing and raise minimum wage above the state-mandated $15/hour.

And like all progressive-funded ideas, the money for this will be plucked from puppy kisses and unicorn farts when they eventually run out of the evil-white-folks’ money.  I’m certain this will suuuuuurely improve the quality of life in California even more so than what people have experienced in the past 25 years (yes, that was dripping in sarcasm).  Just ask anyone who lived in L.A. or San Fran in the 80s and understands how completely unrecognizable those cities are now.

Good luck with this, California.  Your Governor is a lunatic.
